My first HIV test result was dated 25 Oct 1994 & so I use this date as my reminder of how far I have come. I could not have done this 17yrs alone but with GOD, my FAMILY, friends like Peter Busse, David Patient, Mercy, Prudence Mabele, Lucky Mazibuko the list is endless!

I'm not only celebrating my life but everyone who has impacted me including you my friend - THANK YOU! Maybe I should stage a thanksgiving concert what do u think?

Hi friends welcome to my blog; new website under new management and in my new year too!

It feels so good to be connected also over here! Well today I am three days into my new year as on the 14th August was my 39th birthday. One of my friends was arguing with me saying I can’t be 39 if I was born in 1972 I should start counting from 1973 but my birth date is 14/08/72…. I am happy to be 39 I don’t want to add or take anything from this number.

Gabby one of my friends says “at least we’re still under 40 my friend so it’s ok”. This 39th year celebration came at the time when I had just come back from a very successful tour in the Caribbean and started a new job at KZN Dept of Health.

By beginning of August I was booked off sick, diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism, I thought couldn’t I just have simple flu does it have to be something with such a big long name and expensive to treat? About a week ago I received radio active therapy and I was anxious but the Dr explained everything and summoned me to rest, “NO singing at least for six weeks” she said. Ha I looked at her surprised wondering if she was okay to ask me to do that!

Testimonials

Tearfund

I have known Musa for several years, having first met her when she was addressing an international gathering leaders and challenging them on stigma that exists within the church and the positive contribution people living with HIV can make to society. I instantly liked her, and as I have got to know her over the years since, my liking has progressed to respect and admiration for all the tireless work she is doing educating the church and society on issues relating to HIV and AIDS. Musa is not only a well known speaker, but also a gospel artists and business entrepreneur, a truly 'inspiring individual' and positive role-model. In 2009, Tearfund appointed Musa as one of their HIV Champions as part of their Inspired Individuals initiative. her contribution to our HIV work has been enormous and we are privileged to have her as part of this initiative."

Musa Njoko had a powerful impact in Barbados. Her testimony of God’s grace and power in her life is challenging and encouraging. Her music complements her testimony and is a powerful tool enabling her to connect with youth in every culture.

God is using Musa in remarkable ways and she seeks to be His servant to minister to His people and to those who have no knowledge of His saving grace. I'm deeply grateful to have met her and ministered alongside of her.

It was indeed a great pleasure to have Ms Musa Queen Njoko as our Guest Speaker for our Company’s World AIDS Day 2010 Celebrations. Musa presented herself professionally, and with passion and pose. Her talk was enlightening, entertaining and uplifting. She captured the attention of all staff from all levels within NamPower. At the same time she put the message across to her audience in a humorous and entertaining manner.

Her ability to connect to a diverse group from different levels and backgrounds is a true gift, and while not an easy thing to do, Musa managed to do so with grace and poise. What appealed to me most was her simplicity of heart, honesty to the core and stressing the importance to always speak the truth.

In this modern world that we live in, with so many pressures and people so often hiding behind a facade, it is rare to find gems like Musa Queen Njoko who is honest and sincere. May she continue to motivate and inspire people through her own example.

A Turning Point

This is what I experienced in sharing the same room, same environment with Musa: What a blessing she was in my life. Musa came into my life when: my all seemed very well on the outside yet, on the inside, all hell was breaking loose!!

As I listened to a black women, who loved life, who loved God who lived to represent Christ, Musa that is, I realized how much of me I still had within me, being a Christian and a pastor, and realized how much room I still had for Christ in my life. I realized through my engagements with Musa that, it is quite possible to be a true Christian, meaning, walking in Christ’s footsteps, that I learnt and saw in Musa’s life story.

Musa is a woman, who doesn’t not look at her circumstances and seek pity, BUT, a woman, young, intelligent, dynamic, who looks at pity and laughs at it. She holds no pity parties for herself, BUT instead, embraces who she is and loves life.

What a turning point I reached in my life, through my interaction with her. I am even honored to be given an opportunity to have something to say about her. Her life represents bravery, faith and love for God. She is a woman and a friend I cherish having for the rest of my life. A lot of people have desires to meet the most famous men and women of this world, in a humble, simple, dynamic Musa, I met someone who represented Christ, someone who through her suffering has unself-lessly and unselfishly has saved people’s lives.

I pray that God continues to use her to save and change people’s lives just as she changed mine. Through my engagement with her, I learnt to be selfless and to be full of Christ. Any moment with her is a God blessed moment.

Viva gal!!!! The world is waiting upon you!!! Arise and shine for the light of the Lord is upon you!!! When all else fails, know that, you are loved, by myself and more importantly, by GOD!!!!!
